  1. Tulip Bulb Removal

    May 20, 7:00 AM - May 21, 8:00 PM @ See Description for Bed Locations

    Tulips planted in specified street beds and the City parks will be available for removal on Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21. Please use a pitch fork when digging up blubs and remove all foliage. Please do not leave stems and/or leaves behind or spill soil on the grass around the beds. All soil must remain in the flower beds. The street beds are located between the sidewalk and the street on:Main St from Huber St north to Liberty St, Washington St from Open Bible Church west to Brinkhoff Park and Franklin St from the Post Office west to West Market Park. City parks include: Brinkhoff, Central, West Market, Sunken Gardens, South, Community Center, Library, City Hall, Lions and the Klokkenspel. Removal of tulips from any other bed is prohibited.

  1. Adult Co-Ed Softball Team Registration

    April 2, 7:30 AM - June 28, 4:30 PM

    This program is designed for men & women to form teams for a friendly game of softball. Games will be played on Monday evenings beginning July 8 through August 26. A double elimination tournament will be held on Saturday, September 7. Minimum of 4 teams & maximum of 8 teams 12 players per team with at least 6 females per team

    This program is designed for men and women to form teams for a friendly game of sand volleyball. Games will be played on Thursday evenings starting June 6 through August 1. A tournament will be held the following week. Minimum of 4 team & maximum of 8 teams 12 players per team with a least 6 females per team

  4. Little Tyke Flag Football Registration

    The Pella Community Services Department is sponsoring Little Tykes Flag Football for all children currently in grades 1 & 2. The program will include fundamentals, basic rules and short scrimmages.   5. NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Registration

    April 22, 7:30 AM - August 17, 4:30 PM

    Young pro football fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills when the Community Services Department hosts an NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition on August 17th at 9:00 am at the Pella High Football Field. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 6-15. Entry forms are available online or at the Pella Community Center, 712 Union St., or you may register at the competition. The top finishers from each of the ten (10) age groups at the Local competition will advance to a Sectional competition. The winners at the Sectional competition will have their scores compared with other Sectional champions; the top four scorers from the pool of Sectional champions will advance.

  6. Youth Flag Football Registration

    April 22, 7:30 AM - August 17

    This program is open to all children who will be entering grades 3-6 in the fall of 2013. The program will be instructed as a non-contact activity and is based on the child's participation, not performance. The season will begin the week of August 19 and run through October 11. Practice and games will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. A late fee of $25 will be charged after June 28th.

    This program is open to all children who will be entering grades K-8 in the fall of 2013. The season will begin the week of August 19 and run through October 12. Each team will practice one night per week for one hour on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evening at 5:15 or 6:15 with games being held on Saturday. A late fee of $25 will be charged after June 28th.
